Change of control at AT Medics Ltd

In November 2023, NHS North East London (North East London Integrated Care Board) was notified of a potential change of control of AT Medics Ltd. AT Medics Ltd provides general practice care to patients across north east London. New Chairs to be appointed to Barts Health and BHRUT

Three hospital Trusts in north east London have pledged to continue their successful collaboration following a decision to recruit individual Chairs for each organisation. Barts Health NHS Trust and Barking Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust (BHRUT) previously shared a chair in common, the Rt Hon Jacqui Smith, who stepped down after taking up a governmental position in July. Statement in response to vandalism of Mary Seacole statue

We are deeply saddened and shocked by the news that the statue of Mary Seacole in Westminster has been vandalised and we deplore these actions of a small number of people. Across north east London we have many BAME nurses and international nurses in our workforce who are enormously important and highly valued. As a health and care system in north east London we are clear that there is no place for racism and action which seeks to turn on parts of our community and stir up hatred. The deplorable violence and intimidation seen in the last few days we know will have greatly impacted our communities and colleagues. To those affected we offer our support and solidarity, you are valued and you are welcomed. North East London has one of most diverse populations in England. Response to global IT outage

We are aware of a global IT outage that is affecting some of our GP practices, hospital services and patient record systems. We are working with our health and care providers across north east London to understand the effect this is having and to try and minimise the impact this will have on patients wherever possible. Business continuity plans are being put in place. The NHS has long standing measures to manage the disruption, including using paper patient records and handwritten prescriptions, and the usual phone systems to contact your GP.
