The People’s Panel

The People’s Panel is made up of more than 2,400 people living in north east London.
By joining the panel you will be kept up to date with opportunities to share your views on health and care, both in your borough and across north east London.
Being a member of the People’s Panel is a fantastic way to support your health and care services locally. It helps to make sure services work for you, your loved ones and others in your local area by making sure your voice is heard.
All members of the People’s Panel receive a newsletter each month filled with different ways to have a say and share experiences to health and care. Information will vary each month, but members might be invited to:
- Take part in quick surveys at a time to suit them
- Join a one-time focus group session
- Participate in designing new health and care projects on a longer term basis
There is never any obligation to take part in the activities in the newsletter, but signing up means that you won’t miss a chance to share your thoughts on topics that may impact you and those around you.
Where there is a longer time commitment involved in participating, for example a longer survey or attending a focus group session, we are committed to making sure members are recognised for their time and there are regular incentives available for taking part in activities.
Being a member of the People’s Panel is a great opportunity to share your views with local health and care partners, to help shape decisions that are made within your local area.
As a member of the People’s Panel you will also be able to keep up to date with local engagement activities and events.
You do not have to complete every survey, but every time you do your voice and views are being heard and considered.
Many activities shared with the People’s Panel, such as short surveys, are quick to take part in and can be completed in your own time whenever suits you.
As part of the People’s Panel newsletters we will also regularly feature updates on what has happened as a result of insight from panel members in previous activities, so you can see what is happening as a result of your involvement.
All members of the People’s Panel must be aged 18 and over
Yes, the panel is for people living in a north east London borough. These are City and Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Newham, Waltham Forest, Redbridge, Havering, Barking and Dagenham
We do collect demographic data to make sure our panel represents a good cross-section of our north east London population. This means we ask for your age, gender, ethnicity, sexuality, physical and mental health conditions, and if you have a learning disability.
Your data will be held securely and not be shared with any third parties.
By signing up to the People’s Panel you agree that your data can be used to send you surveys and emails that we believe you may be interested in. Your responses will be linked to the demographic information you supply when you register with the panel, but your responses will be anonymous as we use unique ID codes rather than individuals’ names to analyse the surveys.
No. You don’t need to use health or care services at the moment, or know much about them, we want to hear from everyone in the community.
Your feedback and involvement in the panel helps us shape health and care plans and local services. This feedback is provided back to senior staff within the health and care system across north east London and in each borough. We also regularly share insight back to members of the People’s Panel so you can see what other members of the panel have told us.
