Free telephone food and cooking advice support service from Made In Hackney

Made In Hackney are a community cookery school that have worked with local residents to give them inspiration and skills to cook and eat nutritious, and affordable food. Since Covid-19 Made In Hackney has been adapting the ways they work by developing a telephone service.

The free telephone service matches trained cookery teachers and food mentors with individuals who would like one to one advice and support in cooking, eating, or shopping habits. Over six weekly sessions held over the telephone, Made in Hackney will provide personalised guidance for anyone looking to try new recipes and ingredients, to increase their cooking confidence, or looking for healthier swaps for their favourite snacks.

If you or anyone you know might benefit from this service get in touch via the referral form here. Individuals can self-refer or be referred by someone else with their consent. Individuals receive a preliminary phone call with one of our trained mentors and then 6 weekly sessions focusing on goals they set together.

This service is particularly relevant for individuals that have less access to online support, may not feel comfortable in group sessions initially or would really appreciate some dedicated support to build their cooking confidence.
