About this service​

The adult speech and language therapy service provides support to people who have difficulty with communication, eating, drinking and swallowing. 

Difficulties with communicating or swallowing can be caused by a number of factors and conditions including, but not limited to: 

The adult speech and language therapy team assess, diagnose and provide treatment tailored to your individual needs. They work closely with carers and other health and care professionals including GPs, occupational therapists, nurses and dietitians, to ensure you receive the right care.

How to access this service

In most cases you will need to have a referral from your GP, consultant doctor, or a member of your medical team to access a local adult speech and language therapy service.
