Trowbridge Surgery, a CQC rated ‘Good’ practice, to continue to be run by existing contractor

The contract for Trowbridge Surgery in Hackney has been won by the existing contract-holder, meaning the practice will continue to see patients without any change to staffing or management.

AT Medics will continue to hold the contract for the surgery, which they won through a competitive bidding process. The recommendation to award the contract was approved by North East London Primary Care Commissioning Committee on the 9th March 2022.

Richard Bull, Programme Director for Primary Care at NHS North East London CCG, said: ‘This was a competitive procurement with a strong focus on patient involvement and inequalities. We’re delighted our patients were also actively involved in making this decision, with patients scoring and moderating the bids as well as sitting on the interview panel. There were eight strong bids but AT Medics was the clear winner being especially strong in areas such as continuity of care, health inequalities, mental health, incident management, social value and health and wellbeing.

‘Patient care remains our priority and patients will be seeing the same GPs, practice nurses and other health professionals as they do now; AT Medics have run the Trowbridge Surgery since it opened in 2004’.

Trowbridge Surgery has over 7,500 registered patients and has been rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). The practice consistently scores above the England average on a range of criteria including on stroke prevention, dementia reviews, comprehensive care planning in mental health, and managing diabetes.
