St. Bartholomew’s Hospital (St. Barts) in City of London will host View Day on Wednesday, 11 May 2022, for the first time since 2020. The annual event has been held online for the past two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
View Day is a tradition that welcomes the public to see the work of the hospital and allows for more formal inspection of the hospital’s foundation. It usually takes place on the second Wednesday in May. This year will be the 472nd View Day on record, though it is believed that some sort of View Day has most likely existed since the hospital’s foundation inception in 1123.
For View Day 2022, the hospital will share its achievements during the Covid-19 pandemic, what has happening across the hospital campus and provide information on how visitors can be a part of the 900th anniversary in 2023.
The celebrations will take place in the square of St. Barts (West Smithfield, London, EC1A 7BE) on Wednesday, 11 May, 2022, from 12-4pm. All are welcomed to attend the free event and there are no tickets required.
