Hackney Council is asking residents for their feedback on creating new local housing surgeries where they can receive in-person help and advice on housing issues. Hackney’s Housing Services will host weekly surgeries in local community buildings in early 2023 where residents can come together and discuss issues affecting them with their local housing officers.
The consultation began on Monday 17 October 2022 and will last until Monday 12 December 2022. Residents can have their say on when and where they would like to see the surgeries held in their local areas, as well as the range of housing services they would like to be available at them in the future.
The new surgeries will replace the housing area offices in Stamford Hill, Woodberry Down, De Beauvoir and Stoke Newington, which have been closed since the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown in March 2020. Once up and running, the aim is to hold at least 100 surgeries a month in various locations. If residents are unable to attend, home visits can be arranged.
Pilot surgeries will be held across the borough over the next few months to ensure the rollout in the new year is smooth.
To provide feedback on the development of the surgeries, as well as to find out where and when the pilot surgeries are being held, residents can visit the Hackney Council Housing website.
