GP Confederation receives Outstanding CQC rating for well-led services

City and Hackney GP Confederation received an Outstanding CQC rating in the well-led services category during its May 2022 inspection. This was based on the innovation and implementation of its Governance strategy.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is a non-governmental public body of the Department of Health and Social Care in the UK formed to regulate and inspect health and social services in England.

The CQC visited the GP Confederation between 10-24 May 2022, where it was reviewed in five categories: safety, effectiveness, caring, responsiveness and well-led services. Once complete, CQC provides a rating from one of the four levels (outstanding, good, requires improvement and inadequate). Along with the Outstanding rating in well-led services, the GP Confederation received Good in the remaining four sections, giving it an overall rating of Good.

City & Hackney GP Confederation was established in 2014 and consists of 39 GP practices in the area that services approximately 335,739. Its mission is to make a positive difference to the quality of primary care in City & Hackney.
