Every year, there is a large rise in asthma attacks leading to an increase in unscheduled GP appointments, A+E attendances and hospital admissions in children and young people (CYP). This rise happens in week 38 of the year, usually coinciding with the third week back at school. Whilst it remains largely unknown why this occurs, it is important to raise awareness of the phenomenon in CYP and their families.
