Dr Mark Rickets believes effective clinical commissioning can lead to: improved health and care outcomes, reduced unwarranted variation, greater emphasis on prevention and wellbeing – all delivered as effectively, efficiently and safely as possible to maximise value for money. Achievement of these aspirations requires a high functioning workforce who are empowered to meet the needs of the populations they serve and who themselves feel valued and healthy.
He has been a GP at the Nightingale Practice in Hackney since 1995, clinical lead for Primary Care since 2012 and was Chair of City and Hackney CCG from 1 April 2018 to 31 March 2021.
