Our strategy
Our Integrated Care System Strategy in north east London
Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) bring together the NHS, local authorities, voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) organisations, and residents to improve health and wellbeing through more joined up care. In north east London, our partnership is focused on prevention, reducing health inequalities and improving outcomes for local people.
In 2022, health and care partners across north east London committed to a shared ambition to work with and for all the people of north east London to create meaningful improvements in health, wellbeing and equity. This commitment, underpinned by improving quality and outcomes, creating value, securing greater equity and deepening collaboration, continues to define our approach as we move towards strategic commissioning.
Strengthening our Partnership approach
Our refreshed System Strategy replaces the previous draft and sets out how we will design and deliver care to improve health outcomes and reduce inequalities through the delivery of the three national shifts:
- From Hospital to Community
- From Sickness to Prevention
- From Analogue to Digital
It has been shaped through extensive engagement and formal approval by system partners, reflecting a shared ambition grounded in the experience of those who deliver and receive care.
Residents continue to drive our work, shaping the ‘three shifts’ in care and influencing how services are designed and delivered in neighbourhoods to meet local health ambitions. The strategy also sets out how, over time, we will distribute resources more fairly, maximise the impact of prevention, and release funding to support new ways of working led by clinical and care professionals.
We will refresh this strategy periodically to ensure that our system continues to collaborate in the areas that will make the biggest difference to the lives of local people in north east London.
