One year anniversary of the first local vaccination site in Barking – North East London CCG

Last Saturday, 29 January marked one year anniversary of the first local vaccination site opened in Barking. The site was first located in Broadway Theatre and then moved to Vicarage Field Shopping Centre. Both sites have been led by the local GP Federation Together First. The anniversary is a good occasion to look at some of the vaccination data and highlights from the past year:

  • 1789 people in their own home, one of the pharmacists did 653 of them!

  • 570 people with no fixed address or in another homeless category.
  • 77,709 people from Barking & Dagenham, 8313 people from Redbridge, 3438 from Havering, and 2965 from Newham.

Craig Nikolic, Chief Operating Officer of the Together First GP Federation said: “Vaccination is just one aspect of our GP Federation. We also provide evening and weekend GP appointments, as well as other clinical and support services for the people of the borough, all of which we’ve kept delivering throughout the last two years of COVID.”
